DIRECTV is the oldest satellite TV company. DIRECTV has over 18 million subscribers, more than any other satellite industry. Pros: Local channels are included in every package. DIRECTV has the most sports in HD. DIRECTV has exclusive sports packages that include NFL SUNDAY TICKET™, NASCAR HOTPASS™, & NCAA MEGA MARCH MADNESS™. Bottom Line: If you're a sports nut, get DIRECTV!  |
Dish Network is the fastest growing satellite television provider with over 14 million subscribers. Pros: First and foremost, Dish Network has cheaper plans. I think this accounts for the growth. Packages are pretty similar, but Dish Networks offers a basic plan that is about $10/mo. cheaper than DirecTV's cheapest plan. The guide is big and easy to read, and channels that you do not get are shown in red which is great. You can have 4 or 5 different favorite lists for different family members.  |

I created this site in an attempt to give you an overview of the features of the two major satellite TV providers, namely, DIRECTV (Direct TV) and DISH Network. I hope you find this information useful. If you have any questions, comments, or would like to see additional items compared, please contact me.
* DISH Network CREDIT FOR 12 MONTHS - Requires 24-month Agreement. When you subscribe to qualifying programming you will receive a credit for each of the first 12 months as follows: $25 per month with America's Top 250, America's "Everything" Pak; $20 per month with America's Top 200; $18 per month with DishLATINO Max; $15 per month with America's Top 120, America's Top 120 Plus, DishLATINO Dos; $10 per month with DISH America, DishLATINO; $5 per month with DishFAMILY. You must maintain qualifying programming to receive all credits. You will forfeit credit in the case of a downgrade form qualifying programming of service disconnection prior to 12 months of credits. Maximum number of months with credits is 12.
** Premium Movie Package offer ends 1/31/12 and is available for new and qualified former DISH Network customers only. If qualifying service is terminated prior to end of agreement period, a cancellation fee of $10.00 per cancelled month of service will apply.
