Many cable and satellite providers are using encrypted signals to hinder signal thieves. I work for DISH Network and I can personally say that we loose millions of dollars to those who would prefer to make money off of our hard work. As a consumer though I have the right to choose any provider I want, and I have had Comcast both before and after working for DISH so I can compare well. DISH is cheaper "Anonymous" and not just for employees. I just ordered DISH after moving out of an apartment I could not get my free service but now I can also get free HD with DISH and not just as a new customer. If I were a current customer I could have gone online for qualification rules and had it added that day. Direct TV and Comcast can't touch that.

It is an unfortunate fact that all TV service providers do have to go through price increases as their costs go up. I am an employee and subscriber to DISH Network and while we’re not immune to it either; I am thankful and proud to say that DISH goes to great effort to keep our prices as low as possible. And the results show it too, if you compare similar programming packages with similar equipment between DISH and DirecTV you will find DISH is consistently less costly (usually by a significant margin). If anyone is interested in looking for a new provider and cost is an issue DISH is certainly worth a close look.

There is plenty to consider when choosing a provider for your television, and while some believe DirecTV and DISH Network are very similar, there are big differences. Being a customer and employee of DISH Network, I can say that from a consumer stand point that DISH was the way to go for me even before working here. The third HD receiver was free, DISH's DVR have the largest hard in the industry, so more recording time, 100% digital programming, the most HD channels in the industry, HD free for life, and Video on Demand in 1080p. The decision for me was easy.

Well for the most record time in the industry DISH has the receivers to take care of the job. I'm an employee/consumer and the receivers have a lot of time as well as you can add on an external hard drive so you can get even more. DISH does charge a one time $40.00 activation fee but this is applied to the acct for features and things not the external drive. More info at the DISH website.

If you want to lower you bill then DISH Network can help you. I am a consumer/employee and DISH has great packages for the consumer as well as the lowest prices in the pay-TV industry. DISH also adds more value by giving you a one box solution that can service 2 TV's so you can get more with less equipment, and more TV's. Find out more at the DISH website.

With DISH Network DVR, you can already do that. I been a long time customer of DISH Network and then I started working there. I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that DISH Network only looks out for the best interest of it's customers. I highly recommend that people check out DISH because it's well worth it!

Hi Joe here and as a DISH Network employee, just ran across this post. Working as a DISH Network employee is that DISH Network to me offers the best equipment out there! My fav being a subscriber is the DVR functions. DISH unlike Direct offers duo DVRS which means you can have two TVs hooked up to the same box in two different rooms, DISH Network has the best equip out on the market. DISH has received awards for there equip. this gives you the ability to have two recordings set up at the same time. With Direct you have to have a DVR rcvr connected to each TV you want to set up with DVR capabilities, which in the long run gets a bit expensive! DISH all together is just less expensive and truly leads among them all in customer service! When comparing both satellite companies there are many close similarities as well as many differences. The biggest difference that I've noticed working as a DISH Network employee is that DISH unlike Direct, offers HD programming for free for qualified customers, whereas Direct only offers it for customers paying for their highest packages. DISH offers the free HD even for the lowest basic America's top 120. So it saves over $120 a year with DISH just on that. Both are great companies, but in the long run I would say DISH definitely has an advantage among the two both with lower pricing and great customer service.

That is very interesting, being a DISH employee as well as subscriber I can say that I have never had a problem with any of my award winning DISH Network equipment. I live in Denver Colorado and so the weather can get pretty bad out here and I have yet to lose service. And as you said DISH Network's everyday price is unbeatable in the pay TV industry.

I'm glad that I can still watch Attack Of The Show, Ninja Warrior, the new American Ninja, X-play, Talk Soup and so much more on DISH Network channel 191. As an employee I was so happy to hear that we were keeping the channel, because this is what a large majority watches regardless of what Direct TV says.
